Andrea M. Pike

Andrea M. Pike represents municipalities and other governmental bodies throughout the State of Michigan and has successfully advocated their interests in state, federal, and appellate courts.

Andrea concentrates her practice in the areas of labor and employment defense; constitutional/civil rights litigation; law enforcement liability defense; ordinance disputes, including litigation relating to medical and adult use marihuana facilities/establishments; third party automobile negligence; and general municipal law.

Andrea has successfully tried employment cases, both in federal and state courts, obtaining no cause verdicts and pre-trial dismissals. She has also obtained dismissals for municipalities and law enforcement personnel against allegations of misconduct, excessive force, and false arrest brought under state and federal law. In addition, Andrea conducts pre-lawsuit employment-related investigations on behalf of municipal and insurance clients.

Andrea also advises clients on municipal marihuana licensure, and she has successfully defended numerous municipalities against lawsuits and appeals by marihuana applicants.

Andrea also advises clients on protecting their intellectual property and technology-based assets by employing a variety of protective measures, including registration of trademarks and service marks through the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the State of Michigan, and copyright protection.
